Just When I Thought I Had You is a book of photographs and poetry by the artist Sal Taylor Kydd. As a mother, Kydd would watch her children each summer on the family farm in rural Maine and was drawn to photographing and exploring how they interact with nature. The fleeting and tenuous connection we have with the natural world is amplified in childhood, through discovery and exploration. it was this feeling of wonder that Kydd wanted to explore in the book.
Design by Sal Taylor Kydd and Christina Labey of Conveyor Arts. The book was bound by Conveyor Press of New Jersey.
There is no you, no it, no other.
Just light, movement,
splash and sinew.
You slip through my fingers.
Just when I thought I had you
you are gone.
